Soft Drinks and Alzheimers. Why you should stop NOW!

You heard it before that soft drinks were bad for you? The question is this - why then do we still indulge in it?
True, there is nothing better than a cold coke on a sunny day or a glass of chilled fanta with real orange slices in it (sorry that doesn't make it healthier) to cleanse your palate after some deliciously cheesy pizza right?

Well, a lot of things taste great but not all of it is good for you. A diet in high fructose not only makes you add on a few kilos, it can surprisingly damage genes in your brain. Scientists at the university of California have recently found that out. This means that the changes in genes caused by the high fructose sugar found in soft drinks can have really huge implications that have been linked to Alzheimer's, heart diseases and diabetes.

If you are an addicted soft drink drinker, you can slowly change your drinking habits by limiting your consumption to half per day. So if you drank six servings per day, start off drinking only three and then replacing the other three servings with a glass of chilled or sparkling water, you can make it a tad fancy by adding real fruit slices in it. Do this until you cut back to one serving and then fully eliminate it.
Another trick is to stop buying soft drinks to be stored at home/work.
Kicking a bad habit is never easy but with help from friends and family, It should be a little easier. Gods speed.
